Oxygen sensors play a vital role in how your engine performs. Keep the tune of your engine in top shape by replacing the oxygen sensors every three to five years. Use only the highest quality factory Oxygen sensors for the best and longest lasting performance. One sensor per side, sold individually. Oxygen sensors work by producing voltage that the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) converts into an air / fuel ratio. The sensor produces between 0 and 1 volt with 0 volts being lean (18:1+ air / fuel ratio) and 1 volt being rich (12.0 or lower air / fuel ratio). As a sensor ages, gets carbon buildup on it or lead deposits from race gas, it produces a lower voltage. The lower voltage is perceived by the PCM as a leaner air / fuel ratio. The PCM then adds fuel injector pulse width to bring the voltage produced by the sensor up to the target voltage. The result, your engine will be running richer than it should, resulting in poor fuel economy, less responsive throttle and lower overall performance. We’ve used both factory and aftermarket oxygen sensors over the last 13 years on Vipers and have found the factory sensors to last the longest and have the best performance. The few dollar savings of the aftermarket generics are not worth the savings in the long run. You can earn 57 Roe Rewards on this product!
