2015 – Present – Having recently retired from a Fortune 1000 company after 30 years in various key executive roles, Scott Murray decided to pursue his life-long passion and love for automobiles fulltime by starting his 2nd career in the motorsports business. Scott’s mechanical background began back at the age of 12 working at the local airport in New England where he grew up. Under the supervision of the resident A&P Master Mechanic, he would prep single and twin engine aircraft for their annual inspections and trade the hours worked for flying time. Working on and developing a love for automobiles started at the same time. With 84 vehicles later including everything from classic muscle cars to high line exotic supercars, the passion is still there and stronger than ever. With Scott’s career background in supply chain logistics, distribution and customer service, his escape from the corporate world in his spare time was buying and restoring cars he could only dream about growing up. Scott formed SMSS Global Motorsports, LLC in March,2015 and began his business search to fulfill his life-long desire.
With an established solid background and outstanding reputation for innovation, quality products and customer service before and after the sale, Roe Racing USA was off the charts in all categories as the right one to choose. In September, 2015, SMSS Global Motorsports, LLC, through an asset acquisition purchased Roe Racing USA. Future expansion plans are in the works for the company but the primary goal will always be to support the existing and new family of customers that continues to grow with the legacy that Sean and team built for 27 years. Roe Racing USA is a true motorsports industry success story to this day thanks to Sean with icons such as the Roe Viper and RAM SRT-10 Superchargers. We are proud to embrace and carry on that long standing tradition of premium performance.
1989 -2015 – Company founder, Sean Roe, began his professional racing career working with the factory Brumos Porsche race team in 1986. Sean won the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach and 12 hours of Sebring Supercar events in 1995. Throughout his career, he achieved much success as both a mechanic (awarded IMSA technician of the year in 1994) and as a driver with numerous race wins, pole positions and top five finishes in over 10 different series in three countries. The series he’s competed include; IMSA Camel GT, IMSA Camel Lights, Canadian Tire Formula 2000 series, Mexican Formula K series, Mexican SuperFormula series, IMSA Bridgestone Supercar Championship, IMSA Firestone Firehawk Series, Canadian Enduro Series and the SCCA World Challenge. After a distinguished career as both a driver and founding businessman, Sean decided to sell the business in 2015 to take some much needed and well deserved time off to spend with his wife Autumn and see some of the world. Sean still works with us behind the scenes on the Superchargers and providing many of the original “Roe” upgrade parts as well as his vast technical expertise and knowledge when needed.
Research & Development
Production cars are built with compromises. Our job is to search out areas of improvement in all vehicle aspects, from cooling and horsepower to handling and braking. Our Dodge Viper and Ram SRT-10 Supercharger serves as case in point. It does not require you to rev the engine up to a high RPM to make its power. We have the entire power range covered, increasing performance right from idle. The Supercharger is an excellent package, providing positive displacement performance, ease of installation, and ease of maintenance — all at a reasonable price.
