Want that “Thumpy Idle”? Here’s the camshaft that will do it for your Gen 3 Viper or RAM SRT-10. Our 710 Camshaft of the last several years has now been revised to “710R” spec. With stock rockers, valve lift is now 0.603″ intake and 0.606″ exhaust. The lobe separation remains the same at 114 degrees, though duration at 0.050″ is now 238 degrees intake and 246 exhaust with the cam installed at a 110.0 degree centerline. The changes have been made to help bring about a smoother and broader power curve, though this is still a race-like cam that comes in hard above 3,500 RPM. When this cam is matched up with high flow heads and 10.2+:1 compression ratio, the engine can make 710HP at the crank (after tuning, with high flow intake / exhaust system, not stock components). Tuning is required as this cam creates lower vacuum at idle than a stock cam, resulting in a rich air / fuel ratio at idle with the stock PCM program.
*****NOTE: This is a high lift cam and WILL REQUIRE a valve spring upgrade, 3/8″ 0.080″ wall pushrods and Mopar Slow Bleed lifters from the 92′-99′ Vipers are highly recommended. Valve reliefs may be required in high compression pistons or motors where the block or heads have been machined.*****
