This radiator was being reintroduced by Fluidyne and we reviewed the new design. The factory Viper radiator is a two core with each core being only 5/8″ thick. This Fluidyne Racing radiator has three cores with each core being 1″ thick. Fluidyne is among the best in the performance and racing industry when it comes to radiators. For track events, or operation in hot climates, their replacement Viper radiator allows the engine to run cooler due to the improved coolant volume, design efficiency and the superior heat transfer characteristics of aluminum. The Fluidyne radiator bolts into the stock radiator housing of all1994-2002 Vipers. To use on a 1994-1998 Viper RT/10 or GTS, you must change to the 1999-2002 factory or aftermarket fan module. The increased thickness of the three core radiator pushes the offset fan of the earlier years into the sway bar. Radiator fan shroud trimming is usually necessary in order to mount factory fan to the radiator. Due to the increased thickness, the air filter housing will need to be relocated 1″ further back toward the engine. This requires drilling two new mounting holes 1″ further forward on the lower lip of the air filter housing. Your intake tubes will have to be shortened as well. This is not a direct fit radiator without some sort of modification required. However, they work very well once installed.
